- ANSELM’S SABBATICAL PROGRAM IN AOSK CHEMCHEMI YA UZIMA This is a 4 months experiential course best designed for religious men and women to take a moment/ time out of their daily routine in order to have intensive time to read a book of their own lives. There is no qualification required, therefore the motto “COME AS YOU ARE” regardless of age or years of service in your ministry.
The religious take this opportunity for personal reflection so as to identifying the divine in them, others and environment as they deepen their relationship in these four domains (God, self, others, and environment). They go deeper into the core of their being to discover what they are and what God meant for them from the beginning.
The course offers holistic approach to an individual’s life; body, mind and soul. The four months of rest and self discovery have some activities that help participants go deeper into the core of their being and into their emotional world. The most important thing about this course is physical rest; all afternoons are free for individual to rest reflect and relate the simple lectures offered into their lives.
Each individual has an opportunity of counseling accompaniment and Growth groups, to advance their personal development from very Qualified Integrated Psycho-spiritual Growth Facilitators (counsellors) trained at St. Anselm’s program by the Founder and the Director Fr. Len Kofler (Mill Hill Priest) in UK.
They experience multicultural living by being in different small communities where they discover the beauty of one another’s culture, potentials and giftedness. In addition they have a cultural day where they enjoy the variety of delicious cuisines which they cook in their culture and entertainment from various cultural back grounds. Each person is asked to bring their cultural attire to wear on this particular day.
One spiritual tour is organized ones a semester for the participants to have time out of Chemchemi for personal reflection. The program offers spiritual nourishment through daily masses, recollections, confessions and retreat.

Len Kofler who is a writer and the director of St. Anselm Sabbatical program in UK since 1984. The program moved to Rome in 2017. Chemchemi opened its doors to this program in 2002.
We have qualified Integrated Psycho-spiritual Growth Facilitators(counsellors) trained at St. Anselm’s program by the Founder Fr. Len Kofler (Mill Hill Priest) in UK.
